Fusion

Postby devotedtoneurosis » Tue Jun 28, 2016 4:53 pm

Fusion allows you to combine two monsters in a unique way that is different from breeding.

Rather than producing an Egg or an Embryo that must be raised Fusion produces a fully mature Monster, the trade-off being that you lose both parents in the process.

You'll be able to use strange items - much like breeding - to influence results, however, once a fusion is performed it can never be reversed! Perform fusion carefully and double-check before putting your favorite monsters into the melting pot!

Don't ignore fusion though! Unlike breeding, even more unique species can be created, with appearances and colors that cannot be obtained via other methods!

Will there be ways to influence colors and such? Like visual enhancements?
Hi! I'm the creator of the DLC monster Hauntremolo!

Sprite by CostarZ. Other art by Leri.

There'll be ways to influence what colors get passed down for sure!

Also, there will be certain monster species that can only obtained through fusion.

Fusion is different and much more volatile - by default you may get either Material Monster's palette or form. Of course there will be special hold-items that allow you to make it have the + palette or the - palette for example, along with hold-items to encourage other stats get passed down - we're giving you a lot of control.

If you are lucky enough to pair up two Monsters that make a wholly unique new species you will get that new species rather than taking either material Monster's appearance or palette. It'll over-ride the default system. New species will be used for fan favorites - let's say you mix Laz and Pursuit, instead of getting a psycho-variant Laz with Pursuit's palette, you'd get a whole new monster that's a combination of both of those monsters specifically, a true mix!

There will be items you can use to make it a mix though, so you can still mix two Monsters that normally produce a new species if you really want to. You could use a hold-item to get the psycho-variant Laz with Pursuit's palette if you really wish to.

We'll be doing polls and voting in the next few months so people can vote for their favorite Monsters to fuse.

Oh, man. This sounds so cool! I wonder how many possible new species can you create?

As many as we can force our sprite artist to make!

We've got him chained up in the basement and he doesn't get out for walks if he doesn't make enough Monsters!

Seriously though, as many as we can make! If we had an infinite amount of time we'd make one for every possible combination!

Do monsters created through fusion have their own genetic variants?

Thanks

Every Monster has six genetic variants:

A Psycho, a Brute, a Will, a Relentless and an Unstable.

Even if a Monster is, let's say a Brute - you can still breed for an even more Brutish variant.

That includes your guy's DLC monsters. We'll make the variants and you can choose if you'd like to know about them ahead of time or if you want to discover them yourselves...

Lets do some math. As far as i know your goal is 200 monsters (right?), each with their own six variations. 200*6=1200 (different colour paletes NOT included). That was ALOT, but since we know that your another goal is to give unique combinations to every monster, which means, (200*199*6)+1200 = 240.000

240.000 bloody monsters that are all different and that is not counting the pallete changes! I think you will need not one, not two but a whole army of slaves/artists to achieve your goals! So hyped!
